Should Be Packing...
I should be packing, but I'm so nervous. Why you ask? I don't even know!!! Marc just left to sign the contract and pick up our keys and I feel a knot in the pit of my stomach. My Dad just called and we went through all the reasons we are excited about this move and he says, "So then why are you nervous?" And I say, "I don't know Dad, it's just what I do!" We both laughed and after I hung up I realized that I "do this" way too often. I should relax and trust God more. I think I'm afraid of being disappointed so I try to come up with things that could go wrong or might go wrong so then I feel more in control about the situation. Which I now realize makes no sense at all! Marc often says to me, "You're living in a what-if world!" And he's right. And I'm tired of it. And I keep trying to get him to join me in my what-if world and he won't! So maybe I should just walk out of this what-if world and start trusting my Father a lot more. Easier said than done, but I'm trying.

you're so funny! My what-if world often works that way, but also sometimes is the opposite - I think of the things I want to happen, and Tim has to remind me "you know if may not work out that way" to bring me out of la-la land. I guess we both just need to live in the here and now!
OH Charity!! I am right there with you in "what if world" and I need to walk away from that world..but struggle with it.
I hope the move goes very smoothly and that settling in will be fun.
Have a great rest of the week!
I just want to encourage you! We spend a lifetime responding to things in a certain way, so when we discover those reactions should be different, it could take quite a while to change them. God loves the heart of humility that recognizes it's need of Him! And that's where you are-it's beautiful.
I know what you mean! Praying for you guys as you move tomorrow. xx
Oh how I relate to your what if world. It's certainly easier said than done to walk out of it! I think it's a trust issue for me and I know that is a sin, because faith pleases God.
Charity - I completely get the pit-in-my-stomach feeling when it's time to pack. And, we moved 10 times in the first 7 years of marriage!! Lots of pits! :-) For me, it's not "what ifs;" it's just being overwhelmed with the size of the job!
Right now I feel overwhelmed about packing up everything to go overseas - really need to let that worry go!! We head to VA this coming Monday for cand. conf., and I guess we'll know something at the end of the week. A little bit scary! - Dee Dee
I love this post.
Not that I WANT you to go through this "what if World" over every decision - - - but I love how honest you are about it and how you worded it all.
Follow Marc's lead - - - If the "What If's" come, you'll both be in it together and God will still be holding you in the palm of His hand.
