What Did I Do This Weekend?

Well, we had lots of fun family time and a good time with friends on Saturday night. But mostly, I was sewing and then ripping out seams because I did it wrong. Thank goodness my husband can read directions better than I can. :) He walked in several times and said something about the pattern and when I re-read it, I realized I was really clueless and wondered why the heck I even bought this machine.

Just kidding. I'm enjoying it, just had a little trouble this weekend. I'm going to bed now and will face this mess in the morning. Maybe.

I hope you've invested in a really nice seam ripper! Ripping out seams is one of the things I hate about sewing. UGH! I'm just too much of a perfectionist.

Oh dear.

My mother taught me to sew, and that is exactly why I don't.

Not that my mother is a poor seamstress - - - quite the opposite. She is a PERFECT seamstress.

I spent more time ripping out seams than putting them in. I learned to HATE it.

More power to you if you can have fun with it. I'm sure you'll get the knack of it a lot better than I did. :-)

Charity, thanks so much for the comment on my blog. I'm so glad to know that others have to rip out seams too :). I may holler at you when I get brave enough to move beyond the zipper clutch. I love the tea towels you found.
Take care and I'm always so glad to meet friends of Jos. & Lindsey!

Hey...your sewing table looks like my scrapbooking table/dining room table!! I have had a project out for weeks now...so this Saturday I am sitting down and working!!

One day I think I might try my hand at sewing. My MIL is awesome and would be a great teacher..maybe one summer I will make her come visit and teach me!!
I want to see your finished project with the cup towels.

I love the mess! Awesome! I quite fancy having a go at sewing myself. We had lessons in school but we had to make boring things. The only sewing I do now is with 5-year-olds in school, but my sister-in-law is brilliant. She makes veils.
