Thanks for your prayers for us today. My surgery went well and I was back home around 3:30pm, just in time for the girls to be up from nap/rest time and ready to play!!! Ha. Things went fairly smoothly at the hospital, I only had to tell 3 or 4 nurses that I was pretty sure I was just having local anesthetic, but they kept telling me I was going to be put to sleep. I was slightly worried about this, but thankfully my doctor came in about 15 minutes from surgery time and asked if I had any questions... Ummm, yeah I do! He just laughed and told me not to worry, it would be local and it would only take about 15 minutes...and he was right!
It was a bit strange staying awake (but I would rather that than be put to sleep, I hate that!!!), me and the nurse just walked up to the "theatre" (operating room) together, there was no need for a ride in on the gurney. I walked right into the theatre and hopped up on the bed, but I was a bit nervous seeing all the equipment and machines. They were all very friendly though and were making guesses while the surgery was taking place about where my accent was from and what on earth I was doing here. At least the conversations allowed me to not dwell so much on the fact that I was being cut open. Ha. For those who are wondering about my surgery, everything is okay- I am okay-they removed a small lump/knot in my leg. I even got to see it-only because I asked. :) I can't remember the name of it, but it's basically a fatty lump (yes, I don't think I needed a doctor to tell my I had a fatty lump in my thigh, I'm quite aware it's fatty!!!) and to be sure he thought it should come out. It was quite deep, so I have stitches and a bandage on it. He will send it off, but he doesn't show any concern about it, so I am feeling okay about it. He said it was most likely caused from a trauma to the leg and a lump formed. If you or someone you know has ever had this, please don't write me and tell me horrible things because I really don't need anymore "what if's" floating around in my head. Thanks. Those that know me well, know exactly what I'm talking about. :)
Thanks for your prayers! Have a great week. I've got lots of sewing projects lined up! What are you up to this week?

Oh! I had one of those fat lumps as well--just to the right of my arm pit. LOL! They put me asleep to remove it. I had NO problems, never needed anything for pain, only had to have a friend help me change the dressing. You are going to do fine. :-) Did they guess where you were from and why you were there?
Woo Hoo..glad to hear that all went well. Now we will pray for that little incision to heal quickly!! Glad they got the anesthetia question figured out BEFORE they started! :-)
You guys have a great week!
Glad your surgery went fine. Why would the nurses think you needed to be put under for such a thing?! Crazy.
I saw my primary care doc in Dec. about what I thought was a mole. She said it wasn't and it sounds a lot like what you had removed. Only mine is on my calf. I see a dermatologist in March for it.
Glad it went well. I "get" to be put to sleep for mine on Friday. Which is not good considering I am NOT good coming out of anesthesia. It should be interesting.
Glad yours is done with. I'm sure it's fine. DON'T WORRY!!!
Glad to hear all went well. My husband has those too, although the Army doctor he spoke with said just to speak to a medic (soldier who is trained to do some minor medical stuff) about it and they could cut it out right away, no mention of anesthesia. He declined. :)
That's cool you saw the lump. What color was it?
Oh my...I haven't had time to read up this past week...what a week...so I'll say a little recovery prayer for you now.
Plus I loved reading the tag...I didn't know you lived in plugerville (however you spell i). Where did you teach in texas?
I'm so glad everything went well! All that equipment is pretty intimidating but, yay, it's DONE! Take care & I say milk it! Try to get a few good backrubs and homecooked meals out of it at least! haha
did my comment go through? got a strange message.
I'm just now catching up on my blogs for the week...I had 82 in Bloglines!
Glad to hear all went well.
Sorry it has taken me so long to comment. Glad to hear you are ok and I hope you are healing well.
I know you and I both are glad it's THIS week instead of LAST week, and that we've both made it past our humps. Or lumps. =)
